Shiny Things – Yeasayer Remix
We were stoked when Yeasayer said they were up for remixing our single ‘Shiny Things,’ but imagine the joy uncontained when they turned in this world of weirdness ‘n’ wonder. It’s a buzzed-up slow jam, a mini-Krautrock epic, all delicately warped electro intricacy and numbed-out harmonised vocals. We’ve had some great remixes in the past (just recall Tom Furse’s [The Horrors] take on Fire Escape), but you know what? This one might just take the biscuit.

You guys are to 2011, what Talking Heads were to 1978, the leaders of a new generation of really creative music in both lyrics and music. It will be fun thinking about your presence in today’s cultural pulse as the years go by. I only have a few more generations where I’ll be able to appreciate a new generative restart sort of speak. I’m disabled and older than you imagined audience but I hope to make it to Your Webster Hall performance in the city, 3/6/2012. Nothing more to saythan this.
